Irvine Island Project

Pre feasibility studies show that Irvine Island can support a substantial and profitable iron ore project generating significant returns for Pluton shareholders and the indigenous Mayala people

Mayala People

The Mayala people are the traditional owners of Irvine Island and partners in the Pluton iron ore project.

Sustainability

Pluton Resources has won national and State awards for the Company’s commitment to the environment and the protection of cultural values. This commitment is reflected in plans for mining and comprehensive rehabilitation.

A Drilling Revolution

Pluton resources has designed and patented a mobile hydraulic platform which can all-but eliminate the environmental impacts of exploration drilling in rugged terrain.

A Drilling Revolution

The UDP is a versatile machinery platform that has been developed and patented by Pluton Resources Ltd. Pluton originally developed the technology to access environmentally sensitive and rugged drill sites in both Tasmania and Western Australia.

A combination of a turntable with adjustable legs allows optimum orientation of the UDP to the land surface yet easy reorientation of the drilling machinery to drill in any single or multiple drilling directions. This reduces the time and cost to the explorer in locating and reorienting the drill rig. The UDP can be rotated by hand, allowing for safe reorientation of machinery without the need for extra equipment.

The UDP reduces the need to level or excavate a work site, even on sloping ground (up to about 20 degrees). Using the UDP, the area of physical ground disturbance for a typical drill site is reduced from typically greater than 30 sq m to less than about 5 sq m.

Underlying vegetation and the soil and seed profiles are also protected by the UDP. The UDP is extremely versatile. It typically takes less than a day to set up on site. It can be mobilised using a helicopter, vehicle, or even by hand. Where using a helicopter or other machinery, the UDP need only to be partially broken down, reducing the time taken to mobilise between sites.
