Sustainability
Pluton Resources’ sustainability initiatives will be key to the development of the Irvine Island project and the ultimate success of the company.
In its commitment to establish a sustainable project, Pluton has drawn up plans for an operation which generates genuine and significant benefits to the community, sound environmental management and respect for the cultural values of Irvine Island
Pluton has already won state, national and international recognition for its programs, including
- The establishment of a partnership with the Mayala traditional owners of the land
- The introduction of new technology to all-but eliminate the environmental impacts of exploration and
- The adoption of world’s best practice in corporate social responsibility.
Pluton’s achievements in setting benchmarks for responsible development were endorsed by the Prospectors and Developers’ Association of Canada (PDAC) – organisers of the world’s largest mining conference.
Pluton and Mayala people were invited to host three sessions on corporate social responsibility (CSR) at the gathering of more than 27,000 delegates.
The work by Pluton and Mayala people was later described by PDAC as “a shining example of best practice.”
