Pluton's flagship project is the Irvine Island iron ore project in Western Australia.

On 4th August 2011 Pluton announced the selection of Timeone Holdings as a strategic investor and preferred joint venture partner for the Irvine Island project. Timeone is a company owned by private Chinese investors with a contractual relationship with the Rizhao Port Group, operator of the world's largest iron ore terminal, located in Shandong Province, China.

Key to the selection of Timeone was the compelling combination of logistics and benefication expertise Timeone and Rizhao Port Group offer, which is highly complimentary to the Irvine Island project. They also offer strong financial backing, optimal location for beneficiation and strong relationships with end-users in China.

Timeone will acquire up to a 30% equity stake in Pluton Resources, representing a A$30 million investment.
