Access

The Cethana Anomaly, Powerful Anomaly, Five Mile Rise Goldfield and the Devon Mine are located within the Forth River Catchment upstream of the hydroelectric Cethana Dam. Access is by sealed all weather roads from Sheffield and thereafter comprising well-formed gravel roads and 4WD tracks. The main access to Lorinna passes through the centre of the EL29/2006 and the Cethana anomaly. The topography of the licence area is variable, comprising valleys dissecting a Tertiary plateau.

Vegetation

Vegetation comprises mature second-generation eucalypt and mixed plantation. The area surrounding the Cethana anomaly has been subject to fire within the last 10 years. There is moderate to little understorey and, for the most part, the countryside is easily traversed on foot. Soils are only developed to any extent only on hilltops and stream valleys, with ridges and hillsides commonly comprising poorly sorted rock colluvium.
